Hi all,

As Joanna mentioned, we have uploaded the latest design explorations to UI
Options C.1 design
explorations<http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/User+Interface+Options+design+explorations,+C.1>.
We had some issues with the pdfs being uploaded as a slide show. So I have
made the first uploaded explorations on the page into thumbnails with a
downloadable link. This way, we would have an extra step, but will get rid of
the problem with scrolling and pdf rendering. Also the thumbnails would
represent the highlights of the exploration, and by clicking on the link, the
user would see more details of the thought process.

Please let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.

Arash

Hi all,

I've compiled all the UI Options C.1 design
explorations<http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/User+Interface+Options+design+explorations,+C.1>
and linked them from the main UI Options
page<http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/User+Interface+Options>. I
think having them all on one page in reverse-chronological order would be the
simplest to update and link them from the main UIO page. But, how does everyone
feel about the length of the page? The other thing I was hesitant about is
adding a pdf preview because of the way it renders the files (but otherwise
there would be no visual reference to the download link).
Also, Arash and I had a conversation about the UI Options Design
page<http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/UIO+Design> and the content on
it. I was suggesting this page acts as a table of contents to all the design
content. For me, it feels like an extra step to enter the Version A, B. or C
pages to access the designs. We were thinking that individual design pages
could link from the main design page beside the thumbnails that also links to
the appropriate page. What does everyone think?

Thanks,
Joanna

Great point! We were eyeing that beefy introduction which we were thinking of
simplifying.

Wrt the demo, do you mean the implementation on the IDI site or do you mean
this one with the added audio+video tab?
http://build.fluidproject.org/videoPlayer/videoPlayer/demos/Mammals.html

It's a good question. I was originally thinking of the UI Options page in the
demo portal, which shows the different flavours of UI Options:

http://fluidproject.org/releases/1.4/demos/uiOptions/html/uiOptions.html

But I realize that UI Options is really best appreciated when you can see it
integrated into different contexts. Perhaps we could have a little "Showcase"
sidebar or section that provides links to UI Options in various places?

Or maybe others have better ideas for how to showcase UI Options in all its
diversity?

Any worries about linking to build? We do not currently
1. list the video player demo on this page: http://build.fluidproject.org/

This is something I noticed a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps someone working on
Video Player development could quickly link our daily builds and demos on
build.fluidproject.org<http://build.fluidproject.org>? AC, King, Fish, Heidi?

Colin
