Thanks for sharing, Justin! Yeah, it would be interesting to compare these different methods of selecting text. I like that there's no clicking and dragging involved in the Sitecues one, but I'm a bit worried about the combination of mouse and keyboard interaction.

In fact, it's not too dissimilar from the interaction spec'd out in our designs<http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/(Floe)+UI+Options+Design+Walkthrough,+C.1>. The biggest difference is that it works on blocks of text, where as ours allows for finer grained selection. I think it's still worth looking at, and could be useful to compare in terms of usability in selecting the text. I think the UI they use for text to speech is interesting....i.e. mouse over and press spacebar. http://www.sitecues.com/ Cheers, Jan (MR) JAN RICHARDS PROJECT MANAGER INCLUSIVE DESIGN RESEARCH CENTRE (IDRC) OCAD UNIVERSITY T 416 977 6000 x3957 F 416 977 9844 E [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>
