Well, here's what happens for me — I'm running my Gmail SSB. I'm also running Safari and have OS X set to use my Gmail SSB as my default mail client. In Safari, when I click on a mailto link, my Gmail SSB loads the Gmail compose window (replacing whatever was currently displayed in my Gmail SSB prior to that — usually "Inbox").
This doesn't happen when I compose a new mail in my Gmail SSB, only when clicking on mailto links from my browser. When I originally posted, I thought it was whenever I composed a message, either in the SSB itself or via a mailto link, but it turns out it's just mailto links. Am I doing something wrong? k.
