When I successfully create a new SSB, fluid makes an alert sound that comes through my stereo speakers and makes me jump out of my chair. It's using the "sound output" device instead of the "alert sound" device (which I've set in my Sound preference pane to go through the computer speakers at a much softer volume.) Snow Leopard.
