I'm experiencing the very same problem.

The first thing I noticed is that the cursor doesn't blink when
composing an email (it usually does when accessing Gmail through a
standard browser). Then, if you press any of the arrow keys on the
keyboard, the (now unblinking) vertical line which shows where the
cursor is stays at the same place, whereas the real (and now
invisible) cursor really moves as you press the arrow keys as you can
soon see if you start typing again.

Funny enough, I've seen Gmail working properly on Fluid (normal
behavior of the cursor) at least once.... but I don't know how that
happened.

I also love Fluid. It was my primary way it to access Gmail form my
old computer but it is not working in the new one (iMac running 64-bit
Snow Leopard, in case it is any use; my former one ran 32-bit
Leopard).

Any ideas?
