Nick,

Alright, now I've tried this now for a different apache project (SQOOP) that
has this git mirror setup.  It seems to work with only a minor glitch --
used my local account name instead of my apache account name. (need to
figure out how to make the apache one the default).

At least with the way I work with git, this replaces when I would normally
'git push' with a 'git svn dcommit' command.
