I think this makes sense as a plugin rather than in flume-core proper.
The litmus test for me is always "if I didn't use this feature, what's
the overhead?" In the case of loading jruby (and potentially jython
and clojure and scala and...) it's pretty high. It would be great to
see if Chris is OK with having it included though.
