Arvind posted a patch on FLUME-1230, which is why I created this. I am looking
at his patch, making several modifications and will let him know. But the basic
idea behind the patch will remain the same, most modifications are just to make
things a bit more flexible. You can take a look at the patch.
Also, I think the lifecycle changes should happen on a separate branch which
should be reviewed and later merged back into trunk. That way it is easier for
you as well, and won't need to rebase several times.
