Thanks for that article, Carol! I do suppose that Alvin Lucier's recording of "I Am Sitting In A Room" is indeed one of the most widely accessible examples of this genre of composition/recording/music/soundart/whatever. I found a copy of it on LP about 8 or 9 years while browsing through rows and rows and rows of used albums at a hole-in-the-wall record shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma if you can believe that. I bought it right then and there with no more knowledge about it than what the descriptive text on the back cover explains. It's not something I listen to all the time but it is one of my most highly prized recordings because it proved to me that indeed I am not alone when it comes to thinking along these artistic lines. Which reminds me, for Christmas I received a portable MiniDisc recorder which now allows me to make digital (and analog) copies of my Ymphony!s on MiniDisc which I was not previously able to do. If anyone is interested in said copies, feel free to inquire. I need to acquire a stereo mic so I begin again to record environmental works. The divide/delete/combine/rearrange editing capabilities of MiniDisc will surely prove more useful than scissors and tape ever did with analog mediums in the past. Myke
