I've long thought it might be fun to get a painting displayed somewhere on a
canvas that's been infested with some kind of fungus or something that would
destroy the painting over the course of a few months.

Or if someone had a Nam June Paik-style video installation that was rigged
to begin mysteriously malfunctioning, but only after it had been displayed
for a few years.
