York Mayor Giuliani Says He Has
Prostate Cancer

York City Mayor and probable Republican
candidate for the U.S. Senate Rudolph Giuliani
announced Thursday that he had been
diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was not
immediately clear whether Giuliani's condition
would affect his plans to run for the Senate. 'It
is
treatable and at an early stage,' Giuliani told a
news conference
at City Hall. The mayor's father died of
prostate cancer
in 1981. Giuliani is seen responding to a
