How about something with a nice ring to it?

        for a feminine name, "macchina" or "la macchina"--Italian for
        machine
        (pronounced "ma-key-na)

        for a masculine name, "Maceo"--like Maceo Parker who played for
        years with James Brown and then many of his own bands since.
        (just last week at Summerfest here in Milwaukee)
        ("may-see-oh")

        of course, there is "Moby Grape" which was a band in the Sixties
        which was part of the big San Franciso Scene and made a few decent albums
