Fluxedo Junction (that's myself, Scott Kuchler, and my partner - Will Angeloro) are very proud to announce that we'll be
performing live with the great poet/activist John Sinclair for the very
first time this Thursday night. Here are the details:

John Sinclair: Poet, performer, music journalist, award-winning radio
programmer, record producer, former Professor of Blues History at Wayne
State University in Detroit ... ex-Chairman of the White Panther Party,
ex-manager of the MC-5, ex-political prisoner ... Founding producer of the
Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival, Executive Director of the Detroit Jazz
Center former Expansion Arts panelist for the National Endowment for the
Arts, now producer of recordings for several labels in the USA, UK and
Japan, as well as syndicated radio programs and the annual "live" broadcast
from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for WWOZ-FM in New Orleans,
where his "Blues & Roots" and "New Orleans Music Show" are aired weekly
...Author of "Guitar Army"; "Music & Politics"; "This Is Our Music"; "Fire
Music: A Record"; "Meditations: A Suite for John Coltrane", and "We Just
Change The Beat" ... the legendary John Sinclair continues to kick out the
jams from his modern-day headquarters in New Orleans.
The Blues Scholars: When backed by his killer performance ensemble, the
Blues Scholars, the energetic Professor of Rhythm & Rhyme delivers his
intense "investigative poetry" with its themes of blues and jazz history and
intimate personal episodes to the music of an all-star unit.
Fluxedo Junction: Its all about offering an alternative to the standard performance ideals. Something different in approach to music - linear rather than part oriented. It's stream of conscience. Its about creating ART on the spot. Its music performed with a mix of traditional
instruments (guitars, percussion, woodwinds, or whatever happens to be around) and
non-traditional instruments (turntables, live short wave feeds, infrared, stacks
of samples and synthesizers, pineapple slices, and the sounds of Babylon).
But its not limited to just avant-garde musical explorations. Fluxedo Junction is a convergence point of many different minds and attitudes.
Experimental Theater, Visual Art, Zen Dancing, Bent Literary Components, Life not representing art but life AS Art.
They are about liberating themselves from the tried, true and accepted
forms of art - be it sculpture, print, theater, music, whatever...
Flux - A state of change where only change itself is constant.
Junction - A point where one or more roads, or ideas, converge.
Fluxedo - Wearing your art like fine clothes (or are YOU the clothes to the art?)
