MIXED MEDIAS FOR A GLOBAL COMMUNICATION
Dream-Escape is the cross-point between new music media
culture and artistic projects related to the emerging new technology.
The Dream-Escape's innovative platform explores fields such as electronic medias,
a-life research, digital synthesis techniques and new conceptual ideas.
Its main goal is to provide a virtual community to share fresh ideas and
experiences with artists involved in mixed medias.
Dream-Escape proposes during the Medi@terra Festival 2000
live webcasts showing an overview of the most interesting intercative installations,
multimedia performances, happenings and interviews of cyber-artists.
The video stream is netcasted live on both Medi@terra and Dream-Escape websites.

The International Festival and Symposium Medi@terra,
held once a year in Athens, deals with a series of initiatives committed
at developing an interdisciplinary digital culture, mainly in the areas
of Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean Sea.
Medi@terra's main objectives include the development of cross-cultural
communication and cooperation among the countries in the emerging field of new media,
the creation of common proposals, and the establishment of an electronic network
to support the discursive and cultural exchange possibilities provided by digital technologies.
Medi@terra 2000 shares the same goals as Medi@terra '99, following,
however completely different implementation procedures.
In an effort to activate relationships and broader networks among artists,
educational institutions, cultural centers and the general public in view
of developing the digital society in sensitive geopolitical areas,
it will propose a meeting under the general title:
