FLUXLIST: hydrangea query

I have had a variegated leaf hydrangea in one spot for years and it just
refuses to bloom much. It is in partial shade near a wild female holly tree
(it has berries). Do the variegated leafed one just not bloom much or maybe
my partial sun isn't enough for it to bloom.
