I've also heard theories about her, having to do with mouths. That people
may also identify her mouthlessness as a visual expression of
trustworthiness (she can take in the world through her ears, eyes, nose but
cannot speak of what she perceives... the ultimate secret-keeper) Children
and others may also see the mouthless state as a reflection of their own
powerlessness. Not only can Hello Kitty not speak her mind... but having no
mouth to bite with, she also could not defend herself. A lot of people have
probably identified with that feeling themselves at some point in their
lives.

I am another who prefers Badtz Maru. He's always grouchy. Not that I am,
or anything...

I can't remember if I've introduced myself before. I am an artist living in
upstate NY. I'm a book preservation assistant, violin maker, and painter
and I also do 3-D work. Most of my stuff revolves around my fascination
with symbology/psychology. My husband is a painter. We have a
super-freakishly intelligent ferret named Gomez and a cobalt blue betta fish
named Midge. I manage a mailing list for artist Thomas Dolby. I've become
interested in documentation of events as a form of art, and group art
participation events, which is what brought me to Fluxlist. I get a lot of
energy and inspiration from this list and hearing of all the projects people
are involved with and will hopefully have some of my own in the near future.
I look forward to interacting with all of you.
