Hi Jennifer glad you like the link, do you like my use of the site? see
information on how HaikuHaiku works:

see below #(5) regarding chosing a theme mine is "Haiku Hijack and #(6)
how you don't have to keep to the meter of Haiku, you may say anything
you want. By my theme I am suggesting strengthening our connected
community by giving some ideas of our locations, diatance and place, our
shared impressions of each of our immediate surroundings.

I hope some people on the list will catch on and support this effort and
our virtual communities will join in and submit a few words.

Thankyou.

Announcement

"GPS Haiku Hijack" by Terrence Kosick

Alternative Net Artist Terrence Kosick explores beyond e-mail
communication to the shifting spatial and temporal location in the
Global Village. With an improvised participatory form, by occupying a
user driven web application by Neoku, Inc. a developer of user driven
content and service solutions designed for mobile device and wireless
networks Terrences object is to create a spatial network to unite
community distance by shared spatial awarenes. By augmenting reality
with casual situated information according to its spatial location and
orientation while facilitating the altered physiological state via
shared net presence Terrence take steps with taking net art to the
street preparing us to walk away from our desks to the street to join
the emerging wireless networks. By occupying Neoku inc. website called
Haiku Haiku a Location based index of user based information Terrence
accords the characteristics of the normal functioning of a connected
community with an improvised facility for shared spatial awareness and
an realization of the multi point spatial distribution of the network.
By the connections of simple spatial impressions and GPS locations
distances are left intact yet our shared impressions make these
distances intimately familiar. With the emerging wireless mobile
networks and the emerging WAP-enabled devices where you are is where you

are at anytime. Spatial and temporal exchanges in the new mobile network

will take the shared physiological state towards the next level of
connectedness. The shared spatial orientation and global community
heightened physical real /time awareness.

How it works HaikuHaiku is an index of location-based,
user-generated content that you can browse, and add to, when and
where you feel creative!

Here's some information on how HaikuHaiku works:

1.On this site, you need to select a location
to view or add haiku, as well as register.

2.When you view haiku, only areas in which
haiku have been approved are shown. If only one haiku
is found below your current location, your browser
will automatically go to that location and
display that haiku.

3.When you select locations to add haiku or
register, you'll see all locations currently in our
database.

4.When registering or adding haiku, you will
need to select or create a specific neighborhood
location. To pick a neighborhood location, select your
country from a global region and select or create the
state, city and neighborhood where your haiku will reside.

5.When you add haiku, you can also create a
unique location and/or theme name (e.g., "Joe's
Tavern") to link your haiku together or associate them
with a specific landmark or address. Haiku need to
have a neighborhood-level location defined when
you submit them.

"Haiku Hijack"

6.When you post a haiku, it's submitted for
review by a human. Postings to HaikuHaiku do not have
to be in traditional haiku form, simply include
three lines of text, your username and password and
optional location or theme info. It should show up
on the site within 24-48 hours.
