The Abandoned Playground is a neglected space where strange objects and ideas flourish. Eight young artists present outdoor sculpture in a weedy Chelsea backyard. Their bright and sinister art explores themes of renewal, utopianism, and connecting with the past. The Abandoned Playground brings together artists from two coasts who emphasize play and interactivity in their work. Art for them should be physically approachable and made of non-precious material. They want you to learn through play, but the lessons are not necessarily what you'd expect.
