>Q: Why is this list censured?
>A: (There are odious/dubious old-artworld careers at-stake.)
There is only one Fluxlist subscriber whose posts have ever been official
censored off Fluxlist. I would argue that it was more because they were
mercilessly obnoxious and tedious than for any substantial political
reason...oh, yeah, and all the obvious commercial spam emails that come our
way get blocked, too.
Number of people who have been censored/blocked on Fluxlist since April 19,
1996: 1
Number of people who have been bored to death on Fluxlist since April 19,
1996: everyone (at one time or another)
As far as careers...if you're interested in building or enhancing your
"art" career, there have got to be better and more effective things to do
than participate in Fluxlist. Any one disagree?
>Why not have rotating "list-owners?" instead of
>"absentee-listowners?" -- if any at-all?
>Indeed.
The last time anyone bothered to list the list-owners was August 9, 1999
<http://www.fluxus.org/FLUXLIST/listowners.html> and it included the
following Fluxlist subscribers (in alphabetical order): Malgosia Askanas,
Allen Bukoff, Joe De Marco, George Free, Ken Friedman, Judith Hoffberg, Ann
Klefstad, Sol Nte, Jon Van Oast, Saul Ostrow, Owen Smith.
I don't think Malgosia Askanas, Joe De Marco, George Free, Ken Friedman, or
Saul Ostrow subscribe to FLUXLIST anymore and probably do not consider
themselves to be "listowners" either anymore. There hasn't been a pressing
need for the listowners to do anything, so there hasn't been much of a need
to pay attention to the membership of the list-owners group either. The
intention always was, however, that we would rotate the list-owners. SO if
you want to be a Fluxlist listowner, just start rotating!
