Good for you, Bibiana, you recognized Roger despite his many disguises. Well
done!!!
Now, if you send Roger your address, he will hopefully send you a winkle, well
packaged (if I recall, according to Roger, we do not have winkles here, only
clams and mussels and huge shells with Venus rising from the sea). He sent me
a winkle once, but it arrived so smashed I thought it was marigold seeds and
planted the pieces. It all worked out well though. for they grew at a steady
pace and, for a time, I had a winkle patch, and it was a very sculptural garden
indeed, much loved by all the passers-by and written up in a marine biology
research paper. However, winkle plants are seasonal, and alas, they are no
more.
