Hi Pete,

Unfortunately the digest form of the list just compiles whatever is sent to
the list and sends it out as a collection every time the size of the
messages reaches a certain amount. If people send the same long e-mail to
the list more than once then you end up with the current situation where you
can have a digest that just consists of 2 copies of the same long message.
Unfortunately the digest function of majordomo is not clever enough to
filter out duplicate e-mails so it is up to list members to be responsible
and only send single copies of their e-mails(especially long ones) to the
list.
