I believe the Beta Band is playing in Boston somewhere soon... either the 
Avalon or the Paradise. Something maybe Tom should know about.

Kid 606's album is great in my opinion, but I like some weird stuff... I 
never thought it focused on being funny as being kinda violent. He uses 
chopped up breakbeats to construct new beats, if that makes any sense. If 
you find a few songs, like with Audiogalaxy or Napster or what have you, 
find Chart Topping Radio Hit for contrast and maybe GQ On The EQ for a 
better example of the album.
