I've been recording the "sounds of breakfast," at the Sixth
Street Food Corner downstairs in my building. (Just up from
the famous Tu-Lan Vietnamese restaurant here in San
Francisco.) Sort of an open, low budget kitchen with a weird
polyglot blend of foods and voices. Had half a duck on
lettuce with oolong tea this morning. Very tasty! $4.00
Various people duck in and out, selling stolen newspapers,
begging for change or a better deal on a meal. Great
snippets of stories in a variety of languages, all
stirred-up with the sounds of food preparation.
