Huh? That's me! Hi. Rod, Hi!
photoshop-to-the-web thang
maybe I need some sleep...
First, sleep, 7 hours good, though some go for more or less.
Sounds like you abandoned your homepage.mac.com account. That made it easy, didn't it? then they had to go and charge. Still worth it though.
In lieu of easy, this is a recipe:
Photoshop 5-7
Folder of original or modified images, as recommended
Folder for web images -- call this "images" (or specific name of photo topic: "dejaphotos") and put inside folder -- your home folder's "Sites" is a good place to do this on your Mac) -- where your website is.
Your final pages will probably be html files and will reference the image files in "images"
okay, photoshop:
1) Go to Menu Bar, Go to File... Scroll down to Save for Web...
2) choose either jpeg or gif, depending what osborne has to say (Basically, simply, jpeg for photos, gifs for graphics)
3) navigate to "images" and save with good filename
4) ....
okay, start over.....
<http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/design/graphics/> for any technical questions.
4) Make web pages, using wysiwyg editor like dreamweaver or golive or learn html with bbedit (my recommendation, it's really not hard at all if you start simply "wortk samll, work smart" <http://www.bbedit.com> OR
5) take modified photos into iPhoto and export as web pages from there (File... Export...), very simple. But not the best optimized images. PS is better.
6) Get Netfinder <http://members.ozemail.com.au/~pli/netfinder/sw_and_updts.html> or panic.com Transit and do ftp.
You've made a site on your home computer. not all you need to do is send it to that rack computer in a big cooled room somewhere and everyone will see what you see, possibly.
This might also be useful: <http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/imaging_3d/myphotoalbum.html>
This is one too many, but a good one: <http://www.mac.com/1/macslidespublisher_download.html>
(must sleep, have fun)
