i once attended an improv party where, among other people like d. douglas, one of the lennon sons performed, at the tonic in nyc. during the show, yoko ono appeared -- and there, too, she was annoyingly famous. in this tiny club with a crowd that couldn't be more alternative, friendly, artisty-poor down-to-earth, etc., she appeared with 2 bodyguards, had her limo parked outside, and showed off what was probably a 5000$-outfit. it was terrible.. we joked around and tried to ask her to give us a ride home after the show cause we lived right close to where her apartment is on the upper east side, but she didn't even respond and her bodyguards pushed us away. so much for that.
