its not the art its how one gets treated because of theart- not serious enough-and all that- I recently wrote a play about that very issue. american culture because so much is commodified doesnt understand how artists fight for their rights. Until there is a war and suddenly the artists are the first to go- then people suddenly wise up. Its really a shitty thing being an artist isnt it? But hey I got a play out of it.
