hi this is what I send would-be subscribers to ONOVOX [ yoko ono listserv I own]
a - I still subscribed everyone, whether they reply or not. b - it's a good way to be more proactive about including new subscribers c- since the list was run on listserv, I could disable HTML mail, and attachments , at the administrative level on my list config header [ sorry for the techno speak]. It should be possible to do the same with majordomo - I guess. d - the list is dormant, as I'm moving it elsewhere in late January. ####################################### hello - I am the list-owner of ONOVox - thanks for your interest in ONOVOX. ONOVOX is supported in part by financial contributions by some of our friends. We chose to host ONOVOX on a private server because we thought it the best route to avoid SPAM, commercials and website plugging. We believe that's the way to create a friendly environment for sharing info, thought and pointers about Yoko and her works. As a courtesy, we ask new members to introduce themselves briefly. Please tell us a bit more about you in return email: Where are you from ? What do you do ? How long have you been online ? How, and when did you discover Yoko Ono's work ? What are your favorite pieces, books and songs ? Is there anything specific you would like to get out of a discussion list about Ms. Ono ? As soon as I get a reply from you, I will be able to distribute it to the list at large and to add your name to the ONOVOX subscriber database. You will then start receiving your daily ONOVOX digest the following morning.
