Hi all, Well, back at work after the holidays and have so much to do that I don't know when I'd have a chance to make 50 of anything. But generally it would be nice to do another box. I notice we've all conveniently forgotten that the first one was never finished ;)..the CD of digital works plus list archives was never included due to problems at the time and the boxes were sent out anyway..still I don't think it mattered in the long run.
Re: projects apologies for being slack on the cook book. I was waiting for Melissa to write an introduction but I can't remember if I reminded her that I wanted one...sorry ME. I actually did all the layouts months ago, although I'm now tempted to do them again in Tex to iron out a few bits and pieces and make it more portable. As for other issues. Whilst I posted on censorship and in the past have no doubt been considered overly authoritarian by others it is worth pointing out that Allen B is the only original founder member of the list left on it and I think we have him to thank that we have any list at all. Since, flames aside, I enjoy Fluxlist I feel that we should be more supportive of Allen's decision. I see what Bertrand and others are getting at but at the end of the day we all realise that there is a stark choice with regards to list structure: Someone mentioned an anarchist model of interaction...in this sense I feel Stirner's individualism to be the most relevant in that it allows individual freedom but specifies that such a freedom should not be obtained at the expense of freedoms or rights of others. There is no value for most people in participating in a list based upon chaos and negativity. Well, that's that said. Obviously I support the second box project. BTW - I still have two copies of the first Fluxlist Box.....they were supposed to be for archives but when I offered them to a couple of archives no-one was interested soooo......John B I think you mentioned that the avant-writing collection would like one? If so could you confirm this with me offlist and I will send one. As for the other box......if anyone knows of or works for any archives that would have a definite interest please let me know. I think with the second box we should just produce enough for participants and not worry about shows and archiving .. more of a mail art approach. cheers, Sol.
