The Passerby Museum

The Passerby Museum will reopen its doors at a storefront
window in Lower Manhattan for Looking In, an exhibition
organized by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. In
all-day performances, we will continue gathering objects
from passersby in that area. Please take a moment to see our
collection if you are in the neighborhood.

The Passerby Museum is an itinerant institution dedicated to
presenting temporary exhibitions in different locations
throughout the city. The museum draws its collection from
donations from people like you, those who visit, work or
live where it is in operation at any given time. The
Passerby Museum serves as a physical marker, recording the
presence of its collaborators in the neighborhood.

The museum is currently accepting donations for this site.
We therefore encourage you to contribute to this in-progress
exhibition with an object of your own. Anonymity of the
donor will be preserved upon request. For inquiries and
assistance, please see one of the members of our curatorial
department. All of the objects donated will become the
property of the Passerby Museum.

The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus

Don't let the The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Palace of
Variety and free Museum of Times Square become another
casualty of the sanitization of Times Square! This is your
chance to show that you care about variety entertainment and
the performers who bring their talents to New York to make
this the greatest city in the world!

Since August 2002, more than 50,000 people have visited the
Palace of Variety and FREE Museum of Times Square. Now we
need you to show your support by attending what could be one
of our last performances. If we do not raise over $20,000 in
the next three weeks, we will be forced to close our doors.

On Saturday January 18, The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus will
host a day of performances to help us raise the money we
need to stay in Times Square. This day will provide you
with the opportunity to join our extended community and see
one of five shows.

Seating is limited for each performance, and we urge you to
buy your tickets in advance as we will be unable to ensure
availability on January 18. A limited number of standing
room only tickets will be available. Each performance will
include prize giveaways, T-shirt raffles, and opportunities
to support the Palace of Variety.

Please plan to visit what is surely one of the most unique
venues and entertainment offerings in New York. If you
cannot make any of these special shows, or the performance
you want to see is sold out, you can still make a donation.
