history that was not differentiated from history...

Your examples of historians who assist the reorientation of
cultural institutions could be understood by someone more
cynical than I, as lagging bureaucratic appeasements to
existing progressive thought. Perhaps it is possible to
effect change from within stagnant hierarchical mainstream
institutions... but you rarely even hear acoylotes make such
a claim. Admittedly, at this point, it would likely seem
duplicitous. Art History is the Cliche. It doggedly
('indifferently'), supports the 'validated' cultural victors
and slavishly accepts artworld pyramid schemmes as some sort
of twisted natural law.
