FLUXLISTers please welcome Christopher Whaley,

This is what Christopher describes himself and his interest in Fluxus:
"Academically trained as a metalsmith, sculptor and furniture maker/designer, but as an artist i am finding that there is more out there than just making objects. i am more interested in collecting material objects from our "throw-away" society and collaging the objects together so it speaks for itself to obtain a critical mass. it has also become aparent to me that my work is not suited for traditional gallery settings. this is where fluxus has entered my life. fluxus was introduced to me and ever since i have been reading about this phenomenon. I have read fluxus: a history of an attitude, and researched several internet pages(even an odd page about fluxus indians). i believe my work is becoming more fluxus-like, and am interested in this thing called fluxus and would like to find out more.

Christopher, the odd page about the Fluxus Indians is my little project. I decided to create my own false grandiose story about the origins of FLUXUS (and assemble and display its purported historical artifacts as an exhibition/"museum") as a way of (playing at ) pulling the historical-rug out from underneath the original Fluxus folk...people who seemed to delight in pulling the rug out from underneath everything else. Allen B

"pull the rug out from under"...an English idiom meaning: to remove all support and assistance from, usually suddenly; to remove it's foundation; to topple
