the shrine is far from the school..we do make trips to Lake Opechee, Lake Waukewan and Waukewan Park, and Lake Winnipesaukee, also Mount Major and Belknap Mountain..I'd take them to Mount Washington but its too much travel time..but you are correct that it is very much a wild tourist area..people here don't work hard because they are too busy hiking, skiing, and enjoying the lakes..and my parents are moving to Newbury VT..go figure!!!
