This week is Feast of Lanterns-a one hundred year old event
Today was Feast of Salads .
Tomorrow is the pet parade. We always bring our pet chicken. Normally my son, Madawg Jr. and I put the chicken in a wagon with a sign "Feast of Chicken" but this year he and a friend have concocted an intricate NewYork Police Station on the wagon and the chicken will ride atop appropriately striped .
The main event is acted Saturday at Lover's Point-the queen and her court promenade down the pier and then Queen Topaz acts out a Chinese love story -then fireworks.
Feast of Lanterns has a similar history as Fluxus in that it is long ,twisted-- an unexplainable.
I am a cultist of this event- I go out anonymously with other cultists and critique resident's lantern displays during the week. We give out awards.
