History In the
years 1989-1993 unscheduled Art-Making days were held at Ibis Books and Gallery
and then The Buttonwood Tree. These informal play days became formalized in 1994
through art and writing workshops, which were held in the summer for kids in the
North End of Middletown. Eventually
the art classes were recognized by the City and incorporated into the Kids Arts
summer program. North End
Arts Rising, Inc./The Buttonwood Tree is proud to be a part of this important
program for children. We want to ensure that quality art classes continue to be
available to all the children of Middletown. You can
help by writing to the Arts Commissioners and Council Members. Let them know
that you value high-quality art experiences and instruction for your
children.
Note: If
anyone can contribute a copy of a video or DVD of the final
performance of this year and/or previous years kids Arts your gift
would be truly appreciated. We would like to put a clip or two on
our website. Credit will be given. Copies can be mailed to: North
