by
David Medalla

This humorous participatory installation invites viewers to complete Medalla's piece by performing their own royal flush in the WC Gallery's golden throne room.
David Medalla (b. 1942 Philippines) is a longtime resident of London, UK, and has been performing and exhibiting since his youth. Most recently he created the London Biennale, an international festival of the arts open to all artists regardless of age, sex, race, nationality, artistic language and style. The distinguished French art critic Pierre Restany described Medalla as the "marginal artist par excellence." De Pere and Green Bay are lucky to be hosting an installation by this internationally known performance & visual artist. Despite Medalla's inability to be at this opening, the gallery staff feel sure that viewers will respond to the mischevious spirit that permeates this work.
