Re: The Academy

So many of us practice
Tea
Ching! when not
performing or
at work in the studio--
and we participate
in various strands of living culture.
And yet--
so few of us suck from the Ivory Tower--
we teach in trenches, in day cares, in juvenile detention centers--
why is that?
We surely need the academy/academics
just as it/they love us--
We must all know by now,
that the academics
steer clear of FLUXLIST though
this here, sphere.--

are we too unruly?
are we macadamia nuts?

At least that is my take,
after having found myself on this list
after Bibiana Padilla Maltos
left some fluxus in my basement
and the mixitup chappie told me to look for a copy of
Maciunas' Learning Machines: From Art History
to a Chronology of Fluxus.
So I got on line and found myself here.
I have enjoyed every minute.
I thought I was being asked to leave
but Madawg has asked that I speak.
ergo & etc
respectfully submitted,
suse

yes but little children are the most fluxus of anyone, they do it naturally.
i'll bet they all love you with your great sense of humor.

I teach for Lyceum- an after school art/science/humanities program. I just taught a bunch of kids about exquisite corpses today-they all loved it.
