That was how my how to told me to do it. I finally figured it out my hard disk was full so ffmpeg created a empty file cake.flv and that was what the error was from. Thank you for the help, and sorry for the noise.
This error did not point me to this conclusion maybe some error checking in future versions for empty input files?
