[FLYFISH] wing feather?

Some of the Canadian geese that reside in this area have been shedding wing feathers.    Since they are laying on the gound would they be good to use for tying flies? Not usre if these are ok of if I should wait for those that come during the fall hunting season.   Thanks for any help.   Rick
