Did you simply try my_attribute = ""?

Subject: [fme] Using Joiner with
attribute having NULL value
Hi,
I
am using a joiner to join DGN file to Oracle table. A field in this joined
table is null. I want to make a kind of NVL (within Oracle, NVL could change
null value to something else).
How can I specify a check on a
null value to transform it to something different (in this case -1) ? Is
there any transformation filter or check able to deal with Oracle null value
? I tried to use a TESTER on that field after the join, but
how could I specify the test ?
Someting like : "my_attribute = NULL " ???
Thank you very much for your answer,
Olivier Dubois
