We certainly read bsplines as line features - but I can't remember if it is for both v7 and v8 or just one of these? Which version are you using? What troubles are you experiencing?
Another issue would be 2-point splines - never knew such a thing existed till this week. We've made a fix to support these and it'll be in the next 2006 beta.
