In FME Workbench you have a set of Transformers that suites your requrements: Bow ties - SelfIntersector Spikes - LineGeneralizer (Choose the best suited algorithm.)
Slithers, I reckon you want to eliminate small (long and thin) gaps between areas. No transformer for that I'm afraid. But for the 2003 Scandinavian User Conferense I made a presentation of how to do such things. The resulting workspace from the presentation can be found at: ftp://ftp.safe.com/uc2003/unsliverit.zip It should give you a few hints on how to approach the problem. If not, does anyone know of "free" tools to do this?? Thanks Mark Get the maximum benefit from your FME, FME Objects, or SpatialDirect via our Professional Services team.
