Safe Software Announces Major Enhancements to SpatialDirect®
- SpatialDirect is a web-based version of FME that enables users to
download and upload spatial data in a multitude of formats and
projections
Vancouver, B.C. October 4, 2005 Safe Software Inc., the world's

solutions, today announced the availability of SpatialDirect 2005.
Organizations around the world rely on SpatialDirect as their spatial
data translation and distribution platform. This release of
SpatialDirect includes significant enhancements and also brings the
product directly in line with the latest Feature Manipulation Engine
(FME) technology.
SpatialDirect 2005 includes a new browser-based GUI application that
allows site administrators to modify their SpatialDirect
configurations after installation. Another major enhancement is
SpatialDirect's new upload capability, which allows clients to perform
complete data processing over the web. Clients can use SpatialDirect
to download data over the web, update that data, and then upload the
data seamlessly back into the system. Uploaded data can be merged
directly into the server-side source data or it can be placed into a
holding location for further business validation.
SpatialDirect now also includes WFS Server and Internationalization
(I18N) support.
