Hi Athina,
Open the properties dialog for your destination Oracle Feature Type. 
In this dialog click on the tab marked 'parameters'. There you'll find
a number of options, one of which is 'Drop Existing Table'. 

I'm not sure if that will keep the existing table structure or not. If
this option doesn't work for you then check the navigation pane
parameters for that writer. There is one called 'SQL Statement to
Execute Before Translation' - I imagine you could put an SQL statement
here to remove the table contents.
