Safe Software Announces the Release of SpatialDirect® 2006
Vancouver, B.C. February 1, 2006 Safe Software Inc. today
announced the release of SpatialDirect 2006, the most recent version
of the company's spatial data distribution and transformation
technology for the web. Based on innovative technology in Safe
Software's Feature Manipulation Engine (FME®), SpatialDirect allows
organizations to easily and efficiently deliver map data via the web,
in many different formats and coordinate systems.
Following close behind the release of SpatialDirect 2005,
SpatialDirect 2006 represents another significant development effort.
A tremendous advancement in this release is that SpatialDirect now
supports raster data both as source (import) and destination (export)
formats. SpatialDirect also supports custom data formats, which can be
created in Safe Software's FME Workbench and then used as source data
in SpatialDirect. This release also has a generic translation
capability, enabling organizations to easily distribute data when the
structure of the source data is changing.
