Hi FME'ers,
I created a workspace for a recent FME training attendee and thought it might be useful for some folks here.
What it does is take a set of building centroids and road centrelines and determines which buildings belong to which roads based on proximity and bearing.
You can find the workspace on fmepedia at http://www.fmepedia.com/index.php/Building_Road_Matching
The workspace itself generates its own sample data and mimics bad digitising by applying a random wobble. It appears to work OK, but it would be really great if someone in the group could try it with a more realistic dataset. If you have anything you could try it with or pass on for me to try then it would be appreciated. Note that the building centroids have to be rotated to align with the road centreline, so it will work best with text features (building numbers) placed cartographically.
Thanks
Mark
