Hi Daniel, As far as I know... 1) Python won't replace TCL, but work alongside. 2) There is already a Python FME Objects API 3) Python is now supported as a start/end script (FME_BEGIN_PYTHON) in FME2006 onwards 4) An @python function (which would probably be the basis for a pythonCaller transformer) is listed in our database with a target of FME2006-GB. However, I can't say that this won't be pushed back by something more important.
Also, I don't know if it's of any use, but I think you can run a python script within ArcGIS and call an FME workspace.
