Howdy All,

As Mark noted in the other thread, @Python is on the slate for 2006 GB. We’ve just finished it, and added it to the FME 2006 GB installer yesterday. It will be in the next beta that we upload (build 2181 or greater).

I’m still in the process of creating some documentation and examples, and I will be uploading preliminary material to the fmepedia as it becomes available. Keep an eye on these pages for more information:

    http://fmepedia.com/index.php/%40Python

    http://fmepedia.com/index.php/Python_Examples

As always, we appreciate any feedback from users on new functionality. If you get a chance to use @Python, and have some feedback, please send it to support@safe.com; Mark et al will ensure it gets routed to me.

One last, important, note: in order to use @Python or BEGIN/END_PYTHON, you need to have a Python interpreter already installed on your machine. FME does not ship with a Python interpreter: we merely use it if its present. We currently support Python 2.3 and 2.4, and recommend that you download Python distributions from either python.org or activestate.com.
