Hi Frank,
There's a couple of reasons why coordinates might change slightly
during translation...

1) Internal geometry operations to adhere to format requirements - see
http://tinyurl.com/kjtab for more info

2) Integer <> Floating point conversions - see
http://tinyurl.com/l543o for more info

However, in this case I'm not sure if these really apply, since you
are translating to/from the same format. I have encountered this
problem before with geodb, but my understanding is that it was a fault
that was fixed (a long time ago), so if the above doesn't help my
suggestion is that you file this with Safe via [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
get us to check it out.
