I believe that there is an option in the output data set settings that will do 
this for you.  It's been a while, but I think that you can even specify the 
icon to use in the point.

I'm trying to convert a shapefile to KML using FME. Ultimately I'd
like my output to utilize the <MultiGeometry> feature in KML so that
each Placemark has a Polygon and a Point as children. I can get either
the Polygon or the Point to display independently, but if I try to
output both to the same Placemark I only get the Polygon. Any thoughts?
