As promised by Mark, here is my example showing how to use Python and SQLite as a database engine for Update Detection.
When I tested it on two datasets with about a million features I was able to decrease processing time from 15 hours with the traditional transformers to 10 minutes with Python and SQLite. See details in the following article: http://www.fmepedia.com/index.php/Python_SQLite_:memory:_database Dmitri For insights into what's up at Safe Software and what's on the development horizon, visit Safe's blog at spatial-etl.blogspot.com. Safe Software has also made slides available that outline enhancements planned for FME 2007. The slides are from the "Road Ahead" presentation given on Day 2 of the FME Worldwide Users Conference.
